First Annual “Fastest Wiener Dog Race” Coming to Hartford Yard Goats Stadium to Support Military Families
HARTFORD, CT — October 17, 2026 — One Family Brewing and the nonprofit organization One Family Gives are excited to announce Connecticut’s first annual Fastest Wiener Dog Race. The event will take place at 12:00 PM at Dunkin’ Park, home of the Hartford Yard Goats.
Local Dachshund owners have been registering their pups for the race, and 33 energetic competitors are lined up to prove they are the state’s speediest low-riders. Four high-stakes heats will lead to the crowning of the official “Fastest Wiener Dog in Connecticut.”
A prize with a local beer connection
The winning Dachshund will be immortalized with a custom label on a special-edition can of One Family Brewing’s award-winning “I Have a Small Wiener” Helles Lager, distributed statewide across Connecticut by Brescome Barton.
One Family Brewing has taken home Best Beer honors at the Foxwoods Casino Annual Brewfest for three consecutive years:
- 2022: “I Have a Small Wiener” Helles Lager
- 2023: “Luscious Lip Sweater” Hazy IPA
- 2024: “Burning Benjamins” Hazy IPA
Supporting military families
All proceeds from the race will directly benefit One Family Gives, a nonprofit organization dedicated to adopting military families in need during the holiday season and helping ensure they receive gifts and warm holiday meals.
