Annual Freedom Celebration to Raise Funds for Disabled Veteran Housing and Military Families in Lovettsville
LOVETTSVILLE, VA — August 31, 2026 — Nonprofit organization One Family Gives has announced the return of The Freedom Celebration, scheduled for September 11–12, 2026, at One Family Brewing Co. in Lovettsville. The two-day benefit event honors the memory of September 11, 2001, while raising critical funds to support 100% disabled veterans and military families in need.
The festival will feature live music from Nashville artists Dave Fenley and Noah Garner, alongside regional performers including Dave Bray, Chris Timbers Band, Mark Cullinane, and others. Attendees can enjoy local craft beer, wine, spirits, and food throughout the weekend.
Funding housing and holiday support
Proceeds from this year’s celebration will directly support two initiatives:
- Hero Homes of Loudoun: Funding the construction of three new homes on the farm property in Lovettsville, built specifically for 100% disabled veterans and their families.
- One Family Gives: Providing holiday gifts and support to active-duty and veteran military families experiencing financial hardship.
On Saturday, September 12 at 4:30 PM, there will be a special car presentation to the family of fallen EOD SSG Kenneth Wade Bennett. One Family Gives and local resident Mike Skinner helped restore the 1986 Buick Grand National that SSG Bennett owned before he was killed in Afghanistan on November 10, 2012.
A personal commitment to remembrance
The event holds deeply personal roots for its organizers. On September 11, 2001, the founder was aboard a flight over St. Louis that was forced to land. Meanwhile, unaware that her husband had changed his flight details, his pregnant wife watched from I-395 in Washington, D.C., as American Airlines Flight 77 flew directly over her head and struck the Pentagon. Having been granted a second chance in life, the founder has since dedicated decades to service and personally raised more than $1 million for charities supporting the fallen, injured, and their families.
“We will never forget September 11, 2001, and we want to ensure our community continues to stand behind the heroes who sacrifice everything for our freedom,” said David Keuhner, CEO of One Family Brewing and One Family Gives, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
Event hours: Friday, September 11, 3:00 PM–9:00 PM; Saturday, September 12, 12:00 PM–9:00 PM.
Location: One Family Brewing, 12890 Berlin Turnpike, Lovettsville, VA 20180.
